In 2013, Elaine wrote and performed her stand up show, “Gusset Grippers” at the Edinburgh Festivals Fringe. The idea is that you leave the show knowing what a pelvic floor is, what it does, why having a good one is smashing, and where to take yours if it is a bit broken.
It was awarded “the weirdest show of the Fringe”, which is, apparently, a compliment. Elaine is taking the show to Australia, New Zealand and Canada in the autumn and is planning a complete run in the Edinburgh Festival.
She does straight stand up, which usually features rude knitting.
Elaine is available for speaking at conferences, universities, schools, comedy clubs and front rooms to groups of friends, students, academics, politicians or drunk people.
She has spoken at conferences as varied as the NCT and Mumsnet’s “how to be funny” panel at Blogfest and has written for Mumsnet, Huffington Post, Evidently Cochrane and various professional publications.
